Another Definition of Life..

Now, I don't think life is like a box of chocolate (refer my previous post). I think it's more like a cup of cocoa powder.
------------------------------
Bitter at first, but by adding sugar, milk and hot water, you get a sweet cup of chocolate drink.

Just like in life, to overcome bitterness, we need hard work and perseverance before getting sweet results..
------------------------------
I think I should practice what I preach and take this as a guidance in my next semester.

Life is like a Box of Chocolate and DVD Player

Gonna return to Penang tomorrow.
Gonna sit my MUET assessment the following day.
Two days later, another 9 weeks of lecture.
Yeah, in between I'm gonna know how badly did I fare in my previous test. What am I gonna do if I screwed up?
Then it's 2 weeks of holiday.
Then another 9 weeks of lectures for the fourth time.
That kinda describe my life now.
It's predictable, yet unpredictable. (Arghh.. what am I trying say?)
So I quite agree with what Forrest Gump's mom said; "Life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you're gonna get".
Besides, life is kinda similar to a DVD player too.
Keeps on rewinding like a DVD player.
The difference is, with a DVD player, you can choose to rewind, fast-forward, pause and whatsoever. That's not the case in real life.
Did I mention the pirated stuffs we put into the player? You know, pirated stuff.
That, I'll leave it for another day.

I don't even realize what I'm crapping..

SMI in the News!!!

Ghosts, spirits, the unexplained. These kind of stuff strikes fear as much as curiousity among us. It's Halloween again. Well, it's not popular to celebrate Halloween in Malaysia unlike the western countries, but we have our own version in the form of the Hungry Ghost Festival.

In conjunction with Halloween, The Star Weekender (it's a newspaper pullout if you don't know what's that) has published an article on it today. One small part of the article listed a few 'spooky' places in Malaysia which are believed to be haunted. Here's part of the article:

(Click on image for larger view)

And there's the name of my school. One of the 'spooky' places in the country. I'm not here to deny it, but frankly I've never experience any supernatural encounters at night especially during camps in the school. But then, me and my schoolmates didn't even have the opportunity to explore the secrets within the school as access to the higher floors from the 1st floor onwards will be locked after the evening session has ended. So any chances of finding anything is realistically wiped off unless you're really desperate to have anything to do with the unknown.

But then it is kinda creepy occasionally when I went to the highest floor (where the chapel stated in the article is located) ALONE at before 7 in the morning for my prefect's duty. The lights were dim, making the corridor that I was standing quite spooky.

For more info about the Japanese occupation during WWII in my school, check out the school's official blog here. Sometimes there will be some info on what happen during that period.

I better stop now cause writing this type of stuff in the middle of the night can really make my imagination go wild. Goodnight. I thought something blew the back of my neck a few minutes ago..

What Music Are You?

Music plays an integral part of our lives. Whether if you're strumming your thoughts away in a guitar or listening to the headphones to your favourite tunes, it's hard to live without music. Even my blog is somehow has been influenced by music, not only on its layout, but the contents as well, if you noticed.

I read an article on the October 09 issue of Reader's Digest. It seems that there are evidence that the music taste of an individual and his/her personality have a close connection with one another. A recent study conducted by some sort of professor has determined the characters traits of each genre.

As for me, almost everyone knows I listen to My Chemical Romance. Other favourites include Simple Plan, Linkin Park, Green Day and so on. So, I'm classified under the genre:

ROCK/HEAVY METAL
Low self-esteem, creative, not hardworking, not outgoing, gentle, at ease.
(Well, what can I say? Low self-esteem? Not last time, but now, I'm not that sure either. Transition is difficult, if you understand that. It's nice of them to use 'not hardworking instead of the 'L' word. LOL)

This is the personalities of other genres. Which one do you think is yours?

BLUES
High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, at ease

RAP
High self-esteem, outgoing

OPERA
High self-esteem, creative, gentle

COUNTRY AND WESTERN
Hardworking, outgoing

SOUL
High self-esteem, creative, outgoing, gentle, at ease

REGGAE
High self-esteem, creative, not hardworking, outgoing, gentle, at ease

DANCE
Creative, outgoing, not gentle

INDIE
Low self-esteem, creative, not hardworking, not gentle

BOLLYWOOD
Creative, outgoing

JAZZ
High self-esteem, creative, outgoing and at ease

CLASSICAL MUSIC
High self-esteem, creative, introvert and at ease

CHART POP
High self-esteem, not creative, hardworking, not at ease

Well, do you find it accurate? I don't really agree with it though.. Anyway, one thing for sure, MUSIC IS DEFINITELY LIFE!!! NO MUSIC, NO LIFE. AGREE?

Push Play

I came across this song on Hitz FM. It's a nice song by a band called Push Play. I can't really find much info bout this band, maybe because I think they are still new to the scene. This is what I've gathered so far.

Push Play was formed in Long Island, NY. The band consists of CJ Baran (lead singer, rhythm guitar, keyboards), Steve Scarola (lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Nick Deturris (bass) and Derek Ries (drums).

Sound like Simple Plan or something like that, don't you think?
